Vibrant Bodies explores the term solastalgia (a neologism describing the increasing feeling of sadness and grief for lost environments) and ecological justice, emerging from a deep engagement with landscapes under duress. Through the lens of artists, scholars, and activists, the publication captures the intersection of human and non-human experiences in the face of environmental change. Documenting the thought-provoking exhibition Cadavre Exquis within a former griefing chapel, Vibrant Bodies examines how creative practices can confront the emotional and ecological toll of climate crisis, while advocating for a reimagining of justice that encompasses all forms of life.

"Pouring Sand”reflects Julia Flux’s exploration of desertification in both physical and spiritual landscapes. Drawing from her research in deserts across Jordan, Israel, Tabernas, Chile, and Europe, the artbook examines the tension between human intervention and ecological resilience. Through the symbolic act of pouring sand, Flux invites readers to embrace transformation and reimagine futures shaped by both ancient wisdom and speculative possibilities.

This book argues that, in light of ecological, social, and economic crises, further economic growth is neither a sustainable option nor a desirable direction. Instead, it advocates for a shift toward socially and ecologically viable economies and lifestyles, exploring the roots of the growth paradigm and presenting practical alternatives through theoretical insights and interviews with key actors. The goal is to inspire critical reflection, provide motivation for action, and emphasize the collective effort needed for a societal transition beyond growth.
