POURING SAND INTO THE TIME MACHINE

Pouring sand is an ancient act of drawing protective patterns around sacred spaces to safeguard the land and homes.

So when we speak of land what is the state of our inner landscapes?

“Pouring Sand” is a living metaphor: a link between matter and memory, a symbol of time’s fluidity, and a protective shield for spaces and hearts. Time itself is a shapeshifter and our futures will be ancient. There is no freedom in a world of borders, for land has no boundaries, only memory. Bones and stones resonate with these rhythms.

The vision for Pouring Sand emerged in the desert with the tribe of @lios_labs and evolved from the immersive screening of TERRA—a performance conceived as an homage to our only origin: earth. Seen through the lens of spiritual ecology and eco-feminism, the work honors vibrating stones and resonating bodies, as well as synchronized and free movements in natural systems.
With a blend of choreography and free radical movement and installation, Pouring Sand calls us back into living systems, community and to a shared future where art and acting from open hearts guide us through the remnants of our only home which never had borders but memory.

iron in the minerals, iron in our blood.

A choreography in reciprocity with the land and a work in progress.
