to dream, touch, sing and dance the world into existence. There is a dream of the stone before it emerges into the world. In this dreamtime we are all just the same potency, dream, potential.

HOW TO BECOME? How to talk with Stones? How to listen to them? How to care for a stone.

ABOUT

Talking with stones is at the core a sensual homage to our origin and connection with earth.

We find within this framework immersive elements which naturally guide us into a state of connection and tangibility. The touch of stone, the weight of them on our body. The purposeful placement of them into space - all has meaning and agency. Always.

This framework is a collaborative, collective artistic research in which we explore together our relationship and feelings towards earth with and through the human and more-than- human bodies.

Talking with stones developed naturally as a sort of intuitive knowledge that there lies something within the body which is similar to the body of a stone. It is not only the iron in the blood or the iron in ferrumoxid of minerals which should make us listen. It is the simple fact of matter on matter, shifting through and by time.

Our bodies do have their own way of thinking, deciding and navigating. this is their own mind and their own language: the senses, feelings. When we say somatics we actually mean sensing/responding to a place, therefore being in a dialogue with the surrounding matter.

I believe in changing the course of human mankind when we come to an understanding of what Albert Einstein once expressed as and which we see and encounter as this silent, tacit thing in many expressions and actions of earthbound communities -  “information is not knowledge”.

TALKING WITH STONES
is an eco-somatic experimental site-specific installation and dance/movement performance piece that explores the interconnectedness of humans with the more-than-human world. It embraces an animated and vibrant world in which every form of matter is alive.
Stones are regarded as relatives, sharing stories of longing and belonging. Through gentle and deliberate movements, the piece represents an ongoing exploration of our relationships with the worlds- both- around and within us. It serves as a call to action, a tribute to love and community, and it is a quest for spirituality.
In addition to the storytelling, the piece invites spectators to actively participate and co-create with their very own personal approach. Stepping out from a plain viewer perspective into a truly transcending and immersive experience.
The piece originated in the unique exhibition of the project CADAVRE EXQUIS and evolved into a travelling performative dance/movement piece.
