LANDSCAPE OF A RITUAL/

Exploring Transcendence through Matter, the Elements and Light

„Landscapes of a Ritual“ explores the essence of ritualistic experiences, seeking to reveal the nature of sacred ceremonies by adressing the actual matter of a ritual and by harnessing the physical and invisible energies.

The project reveals the metamorphosis of matter during a burning ceremony within a glass scultpure. The sculpture becomes more than a mere container -it serves as catalyst for the interplay of caustic light, symbolizing the interwoven elements of fire and water central to ritualistic processes.

Through the manipulations of glass, the artist illustrates the profound connection between the ritual‘s transformative power and the vessel‘s translucent properties. Light, representing the essence of spiritual transcendence, refracts through the caustic waves of water contained within. The integration of fire and water symbolizes the cyclical nature of existence—the process of destruction and creation, ashes to ashes.

The resulting landscapes within the glass evoke a profound visual narrative, inviting contemplation on the ephemeral yet enduring nature of rituals and their imprints on both physical and spiritual realms.

Simutaneously the body of the artist becomes a vessel - open and reflecting in movement and dance the energies of the ritual, space, time, audience.
